Швейцарская компания Helvetic Mint по заказу Острова Ниуэ в конце апреля 2014 года выпустит монету «Ибекс» серии «Швейцарская дикая природа».

Ибекс или альпийский козел — вид парнокопытных из рода горных козлов, распространённый в Альпах. В среднем ибекс достигает длины до 150 см и роста в холке около 90 см. Самки весят примерно 40 кг, а самцы могут весить до 100 кг. У самцов имеются внушительные выгнутые рога длиной до 1 м, в то время как у самок есть только короткие, едва изогнутые рожки. У обоих полов имеется бородка. Летом у самцов окраска шерсти тёмно-коричневая, а у самок немного красноватая или с золотистым оттенком. В зимнее время шерсть у обоих полов серая. Ибекс обитает в Альпах на высоте между границами леса и льда. Ночует обычно высоко в горах. Продолжительность жизни ибекса – до 20 лет.

На аверсе отчеканен портрет королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II, окруженный надписями: «ELIZABETH II», «NIUE», «TWO DOLLARS», «2014».

На реверсе представлен ибекс в ультравысоком рельефе, расположившийся на гребне скалы. Благодаря дальновидным охотникам ибекс по-прежнему остаётся властелином горных вершин.

Due to the extreme differences in height from 195 m above sea level to over 4600 m Switzerland displays a great variety of climates with the corresponding plants and animals. While sitting under decorative palms growing in an almost Mediterranean climate along the shores of Lago Maggiore and Lake Lugano in southern Switzerland you may have a look at mountain peaks covered by eternal snow. Chamois and wild boar, hart, fox and bauson live in the forests, but sometimes they can even be seen at distances of a few hundred feet in the suburbs. The wild hare has become rare.

Дизайн монеты был утвержден ФИФА.

Чемпионат мира по футболу 2014 (2014 FIFA World Cup) — 20-й чемпионат мира по футболу, финальный турнир которого состоится в Бразилии. Матч открытия пройдет 12 июня 2014 года в Сан-Паулу, а финал — 13 июля в Рио-де-Жанейро.

На аверсе расположен портрет королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II (автор Susanna Blunt). Вокруг расположены надписи: «ELIZABETH II» и «D • G • REGINA».

Реверс украшен цветным изображением футболиста, перед ударом по мячу, на котором изображены контуры границ Канады. На заднем плане на фоне сетки ворот изображены болельщики, а в нижней части монеты — дети, играющие с мячом. Вдоль края монеты расположены надписи: «25 CENTS», «CANADA», «2014 FIFA WORLD CUP», «COUPE DU MONDE DE LA FIFA 2014». Дизайнер Steve Hepburn.

Considered the world’s most popular sport, soccer has also taken hold of Canadians young and old. Although the Dominion of Canada Football Association has been a FIFA member since its formation in 1913 it is largely since the 1980s that soccer’s popularity in Canada has soared, particularly among youth. Beginning in the 1980s, soccer became the Canadian sport with the highest number of registered players, surpassing even hockey. Soccer registration in Canada has continued to outpace hockey registration ever since and remains both the top participatory sport and fastest-growing sport in Canada. Today, the Canadian Soccer Association boasts nearly 1 million registered soccer players in Canada, the majority of whom are under the age of 19 and almost half of whom are female.

With this dynamic global sport inspiring the passion of young Canadians, it is no surprise that Canada’s international status in soccer has seen an upsurge over the last two decades. The Canadian men’s national soccer team participated in both the 1986 FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Confederations Cup 2001. The Canadian women’s national soccer team has played at 5 FIFA Women’s World Cups. Canada will host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015.

Coin design was approved by FIFA.

Coin was designed by Canadian artist Steve Hepburn and presents a dynamic stylized pastiche of soccer images. Dominating the image is a soccer player, right leg thrown back to make a powerful kick. The player’s target is a large soccer ball upon which a map of Canada replaces one of the dark patches. Below the image of the player, three young children play soccer in a field of grass—a boy prepares to kick the ball while two girls approach him from either side; all the young players are dressed in the sport’s recognizable uniform of long shorts, jersey, tall socks, and soccer cleats. In the upper right corner of the image, backed by a cheery yellow sunburst, a large stylized image of a Canadian crowd, arms extended to the sky, waving flags and pennants and flanked by swirling maple leaves, is reminiscent of the building wave of enthusiasm for the sport. The background is dominated by the well known green of the soccer pitch along with colourful ‘swoosh’ marks flying from behind the ball and complex line patterns recalling soccer nets.

Белоголовый орлан  — крупная хищная птица, живущая на территории США, Канады и Мексики. Белоголовый орлан считался священной птицей в культурах многих коренных жителей Северной Америки. Перья и когти орла широко известны как детали украшений и церемониальных костюмов индейцев.

Национальным символом США белоголовый орлан стал в 1782 году, когда его изображение появилось на Большой печати США (гербе США). Изображенный на лицевой стороне печати орлан держит в одной лапе символ войны — стрелы, а в другой символ мира — оливковую ветвь. Автором предложения о выборе именно белоголового орлана для изображении на гербе США был секретарь Континентального Конгресса Чарльз Томсон.

По легенде, во время одного из первых сражений за независимость молодой североамериканской республики, белоголовые орлы, разбуженные выстрелами, вылетели из гнезда и с криками кружили над головами сражавшихся. «Они кричат за свободу», — сказал якобы один из американских патриотов.

Считается, что белоголовый орлан символизирует силу, мужество, свободу и бессмертие.

На аверсе монеты «Белоголовый орлан» отчеканен портрет королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II работы Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS. По краю расположены надписи «QUEEN ELIZABETH II», «1 DOLLAR TUVALU», «2014».

One of the most popular types of coins struck by the Perth Mint are their high-relief ones. These coins are struck deeper into a thicker planchet (blank) to increase the distance between the highest and lowest points of the coins artwork. The result is a design that has an almost three-dimensional quality and done right they’re some of the most attractive coins released today.

In the same vein as the recent and beautiful John Mercanti designed Wedge Tailed Eagle high relief silver coin, this latest one-ounce 0.999 silver coin carries one of the most impressive of the Birds of Prey, the simply magnificent Bald Eagle.

The artist for this portrait is Perth Mint resident Ing Ing Jong, who was also responsible for such recent releases as the hit 2014 Stock Horse, the 2014 Australian Gold Sovereign and last years Lunar Snakes. The American coin dealer SilverTowne has the exclusive rights to distribute the coin but we’re currently trying to determine if that’s for the full 5,000 mintage, or if, like the aforementioned Wedge-Tailed Eagle, a portion of the run will be sold by the Perth Mint at a later date.

The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a sea eagle found in North America. Its range includes most of Canada and Alaska, all of the contiguous United States, and northern Mexico. It is found near large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting.

The Bald Eagle is both the national bird and national animal of the United States of America. The Bald Eagle appears on its Seal. In the late 20th century it was on the brink of extirpation in the continental United States. Populations recovered and the species was removed from the U.S. federal government’s list of endangered species on July 12, 1995 and transferred to the list of threatened species. It was removed from the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife in the Lower 48 States on June 28, 2007.

Along with a portrait of an American Bald Eagle, the coin’s reverse also includes the inscription AMERICAN BALD EAGLE, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight and fineness.

The coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2014 year-date.

Королевский монетный двор Испании 7 февраля 2014 года (в наборе для World Money Fair) и март 2014 года (в роллах) выпустил пятую испанскую памятную монету нумизматической серии «Объекты Всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО». Монета посвящена парку Гуэля, автором которого является великий Антонио Гауди.

Знаменитый парк Гуэля (исп. Parque Güell; кат. Parc Güell), расположенный в Барселоне, был создан Антонио Гауди в 1900—1914 годах. Представляет собой комбинация садов и жилых зон, площадь парка составляет 17,18 га. Название парка происходит от фамилии богатого предпринимателя из известной барселонской семьи Аузеби Гуэля (кат. Eusebi Güell). Гуэль стал настоящим меценатом Гауди — его деньги помогли реализовать огромное число его проектов, в том числе и парк Гуэля.

Сам парк является результатом несостоявшегося проекта застройки этой местности 86 домами для крупной буржуазии города. На самом деле из 86 было продано только 2 участка. Парк построен в характерном для Гауди стиле, ему присущи извилистые формы, кривые очертания и т. д. Он расположен в центре города, но однозначно отделён от него и противостоит ему — он находится на возвышении, над центральной частью города.

Во внутренней части монеты изображён купол одного из павильонов, расположенных у входа в парк. На переднем плане — мозаичная саламандра, являющаяся символом парка. Слева полукругом выгравировано название государства-эмитента «ESPAÑA», а также указан год выпуска монеты «2014». Текст справа: «PARK GÜELL — GAUDÍ». Кроме того имеется знак Королевского монетного двора Испании.

По кругу внешнего кольца расположены 12 звёзд Европейского союза.

Spanish UNESCO World Heritage Sites series:
Spain started the commemorative coin series Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la UNESCO (UNESCO World Heritage) in 2010, commemorating all of Spain's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which could continue until 2050. The order in which the coin for a specific site is issued coincides with the order in which they were declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

2 euro 2011 Patio de los Leones of the Alhambra, Generalife and Albayzín, Granada,

На реверсе в цвете показан крупным планом глаз мухи обыкновенной (XL-рельеф) - фасеточный глаза. Своим глазом муха способна различать цвета и воспринимать ультрафиолетовые лучи. Муха обладает хорошей способностью различать мигания света с частотой вплоть до 300 Гц (в 6 раз больше, чем возможность человеческого глаза). Глаза неподвижны, расположены по бокам головы и могут занимать почти всю её поверхность.

Houseflies have dark gray or gray and yellow bodies with dark lines. The main part of their body has 8 segments in males and 9 segments in females. Females have 5 segments of their abdomen visible all the time. She sticks out the other 4 when she lays her eggs. This way, she can lay eggs under the surface. Females are a little bit bigger than males. Like all flies, they only have one pair of translucent wings for flying and the second pair are only used for balance. Houseflies are 4 to 8 mm long, and are 6.35 mm long on average.

Houseflies eyes are compound organs that are comprised of thousands of individual lenses. Compound eyes are capable of detecting both the polarization of light and color spectrums unseen by humans. Houseflies eyes can recognize even the slightest  ovements in a wide field. This allows the fly to see a far wider range, as well as detect and react to movement at a quicker pace than species with simple eyes. This is the reason that it is extremely difficult to swat a housefly. Houseflies are meticulous in their grooming, particularly around their eyes. These flies use their forelegs to remove any material that has come into contact with the eyes.
