Монетный двор Австралии, г. Перт, в рамках сотрудничества с Монетным двором Новой Зеландии и компанией ВВС, изготовил очередную монету «Плачущие ангелы» серии «Монстры «Доктора Кто».

Плачущие Ангелы — прирождённые охотники, похожие на статуи ангелов, закрывающих глаза руками. При прикосновении Плачущего Ангела, тот до кого ангел дотронулся попадает в прошлое на несколько десятков лет и доживает там свой век без возможности вернуться в своё время. А сам Ангел питается энергией тех дней, которые могла бы прожить его жертва. Однако, Ангелы могут и убивать человека, например, сворачивая шеи, как в сериях «Время ангелов» и «Плоть и камень».

Главной особенностью Плачущих Ангелов является так называемый «квантовый замок»: в поле зрения любых живых существ Плачущего Ангела не существует, и он обращается в камень. «Это статуя, пока ты на него смотришь. Но стоит только повернуться к нему спиной…» По этой причине они закрывают свои глаза руками, чтобы не увидеть друг друга и навечно не окаменеть. Также Плачущие Ангелы способны поглощать энергию из электрических приборов. Ко всему прочему, они очень быстро двигаются.

По опросам британских телезрителей именно плачущие ангелы стали самыми страшными монстрами новых серий фильма «Доктор Кто».

На аверсе отчеканен портрет Ее Величества королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II работы Яна Бродли. Вокруг выгравированы надписи: «ELIZABETH II», «NIUE», «ONE DOLLAR», «2014».

Реверс представляет изображение страшного плачущего ангела на красном фоне. Слева указаны технические характеристики «1/2oz 999 Fine Silver» и надпись «DW logo © 2012 & ™ BBC. Licensed by BBCWW Ltd». Внизу выгравировано название сериала «DOCTOR WHO».

The New Zealand Mint and BBC preset a five coin series of the Doctor Who Monsters. This colored coin face illustrates an engraved Weeping Angel, set against a dramatic colour background, surrounded by a finely engraved border design.

Issued as legal tender of the South Pacific Island nation of Niue, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2014 year-date and the monetary denomination features on the coin’s obverse.

The coin’s reverse depicts a Weeping Angel set against a dramatic colour background, surrounded by a finely struck border. The inscription DOCTOR WHO also features in the design.

Doctor Who is currently the longest running and most successful science fiction television series of all time. Produced in Great Britain by the BBC, the programme depicts the adventures of a time travelling, humanoid alien known as the Doctor.

Монетный двор Польши для Острова Ниуэ в феврале 2014 года отчеканил серебряную монету «Мадонна с гвоздикой».

«Мадонна с гвоздикой» – это одно из наиболее известных произведений итальянского художника, архитектора и инженера эпохи Ренессанса – Леонардо да Винчи. Будучи созданным в 1472–1478 годах, оно является старейшей известной картиной этого великого художника. Красная гвоздика, изображенная на картине, символизирует искреннюю материнскую любовь Марии к Иисусу. В наше время "Мадонна с гвоздикой» находится в собрании «Старой пинакотеки» в Мюнхене.

На аверсе расположен узорчатый орнамент, украшенный селективным золочением. Ниже выгравирован стилизованный фрагмент ренессансного аттика. Слева – изображение ее Величества Королевы Елизаветы II, знак монетного двора «m/w» и номинал «1 DOLLAR». По окружности указаны эмитент «NIUE ISLAND», пробы серебра «Ag 999», «ELIZABETH II» и год выпуска «2014».

На реверсе изображена многоцветная репродукция «Мадонны с гвоздикой». Справа находится характерный для эпохи Возрождения орнамент. По обеим сторонам картины выгравированы вертикальные надписи «MADONNA OF THE CARNATION» и «MADONNA Z GOŹDZIKIEM» (название монеты на английском и польском языках).

К 200-летию Нидерландскому банку в Голландии отчеканены новые коллекционные монеты. Их дизайн как обычно един и вдохновлён старыми голландскими банкнотами. Дизайн разработал Michael Guilfoyle.

Нидерландский банк (De Nederlandsche Bank) — центральный банк Нидерландов. Основан в 1814 году указом Виллема I. Банк был частной компанией, ему было предоставлено право выпуска банкнот, являвшихся законным платёжным средством. В 1948 году банк национализирован.

В центральной части аверса представлен профильный портрет короля Нидерландов Виллема-Александра в окружении микроузора. Внизу указан год эмиссии «2014». Текст справа полукругом: «WILLEM-ALEXANDER KONING DER NEDERLANDEN» (Виллем-Александер король Нидерландов).

The Royal Dutch Mint has launched a series of coins which marks the 200^th anniversary of the founding of the country’s Central Bank.

Organized in 1814, one of King Willem I’s first official actions after assuming the new unified Dutch throne was to sign a Royal warrant setting up and establishing de Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). The King’s goal was to facilitate economic growth while ensuring financial stability. 200 years later, it is still DNB’s primary purpose especially since joining the EURO system of banking with the adoption of the Euro single currency in 2002. After two centuries, the functions of this esteemed institution focuses on three areas: monetary policy, payment transactions, and supervision. As the Netherlands prepares to celebrate the 200^th anniversary of the official establishment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands next year, the bi-centenary of the establishment of the Dutch Central Bank is one of the country’s most important national anniversaries.

The ‘de Nederlandsche Bank’ five & ten Euro coins are designed by Michael Guilfoyle, who designed last year’s “Three Kings” silver medallion issued by the Royal Dutch Mint on the occasion of the accession of King Willem-Alexander. The new commemorative coins feature several references to bank notes, including refined calligraphy patterns that used to serve as a security measure for earlier bank notes. In addition, the coin’s design includes micro-text, introduced in the latter half of the 20^th century which was also used as a security feature on banknotes and more recently, on coins.

A special color set for the ‘de Nederlandsche Bank’ five euro coins contain three Silver Proof coins with color, as well as three colored silver miniature bank notes of 10, 25 and 50 guilders of the previous series, (c. 1968 to 1984). The coin colors correspond with the banknote colors. The obverse of the coins includes corresponding artwork from the reverse design depicting calligraphy around a smooth outline profile of HM King Willem-Alexander along with the text “WILLEM-ALEXANDER KONING DER NEDERLANDEN” and the year of issue “2014” below.

The 5 €URO coin are produced in two versions, the circulation- type example which is produced in silver-plated base metal and a sterling silver proof version. The circulation type coins are available in rolls of 20 pieces and in presentation coin-cards. The proof examples are available as a single item without color.

The three colorized coins are available in the set only and are housed in a custom wood presentation box limited to 1000 sets with numbered certificate.

Национальный банк Польши 3 марта 2014 года выпустил четвертую монету «Казимир III Великий» в серии «Сокровища Станислава Августа».

Именно король Станислав Август заказал Варшавскому монетному двору отчеканить золотые медали с портретами польских королей. Дизайн этих медалей лег в основу художественного оформления монет этой серии. В состав серии входят 24 монеты, среди которых 23 являются копиями медалей из оригинальной медальерной коллекции с XVII века. Серия дополнилась монетой, посвященной создателю коллекции, Станиславу Августу Понятовскому.

Казимир III Великий (1310–1370) – последний польский король из династии Пястов. Благодаря его государственной деятельности Польша заключила ряд мирных договоров с соседями. Во время правления Казимира Польша стала превращаться в экономически развитое государство. Казимира III Великий укрепил королевскую власть, реформировал управление, юридическую и денежную системы по западному образцу, облегчил положение крестьян и разрешил поселиться в Польше евреям — жертвам религиозного преследования в Западной Европе. В 1364 Казимир основал в Кракове первый польский университет — один из старейших в Европе.

На аверсе выгравировано жизнеописание короля Казимира Великого на латинском языке отчеканенное в 14 строк: «LOCTICI FILIUS, PRIMUS IN PATRIA LEGES COLLECTAS, ET REDACTAS VISLICIAE PROMULGAVIT, URBES PLURIMAS CONDIDIT, MULTAS MUNIVIT, RUSSIAM RUBRAM REGNO ADJUNXIT, CIVES ET COLONOS VOLUIT, ET FECIT ESSE BEATOS, E DOMO PIASTEA ULTIMUS REX. OBIIT A.D. 1370». Вдоль края аверса выгравированы соответсвующие надписи: «RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA • 500 ZŁ» или «RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA • 50 ZŁ». В нижней части реверса – изображение Герба Польши и год эмиссии монеты «2014». Дизайнеры: Robert Kotowicz.

На реверсе отчеканен портрет польского короля. Изображение выполнено по портрету Марчелло Баччарелли из коллекции, созданной по заказу Станислава Августа Понятовского для Мраморной Комнаты в Королевском Замке в Варшаве. The fourth coin of the series depicts a medal presenting the last king of the Piast dynasty – Casimir the Great who earned his nickname with his great merits related to rebuilding monarchy in Poland.

"Treasures of King Stanisław August" – replicates the famous 18th century medallic series with the images of the kings of Poland, which was struck on the order of Stanisław August Poniatowski. The royal medals, designed by two outstanding medalists: Jan Filip Holzhaeusser and Jan Jakub Reichel, were struck at the Warsaw mint in the years 1791–1797/1798. The coins issued by Narodowy Bank Polski are faithful replicas of the medals, preserving the diameter and height of relief of the originals.

When Casimir the Great came to the throne, the economy of Poland was ruined, and the kingdom was depopulated and exhausted by war. Upon his death, Casimir left a kingdom which had doubled in size, was prosperous, wealthy and held great prospects for the future. He built the first Polish university, modernized economy, unified the law and introduced tax and military reforms. He also made his contribution to the Polish coinage history – he launched new monetary units, including a Cracovian grosz.

The reverse of a coin is a faithful replica of a medal with an image of a bust of king Casimir the Great, based on a portrait painted between 1768 and 1771 by Marcello Bacciarelli for the Marble Room at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. In the upper part of the coin, along the rim – an inscription in Latin: CASIMIRUS MAGNUS.

In the central part obverse – a replica of the medal obverse with a short biography of King Casimir the Great in Latin as follows: Son of Elbow-High, the first who collected all lex patriae and announced them in Wislica, fortified many towns, joined Red Ruthenia to the monarchy, had wished to make citizens and farmers contented and he fulfilled his wish; the last of the Piast dynasty. He died in 1370, after 33 years of ruling Poland, at the age of 60, on 5th November. Along the rim – inscriptions: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA (Republic of Poland), 50 ZŁ (the face value). At the bottom – the year of issue (2014) and a miniature emblem of the Republic of Poland (white eagle wearing a crown).

The Mint of Poland presents the 4th coin of the series "SOS to the World – Endangered Animal Species" dedicated to the species which are under the risk of going extinct.

The “Giant Panda” coin is an essence of the modern approach to contemporary mint art. It perfectly combines a meaningful theme, innovative technologies and an outstanding design. What focuses attention is its out-of-ordinary packaging, presenting outlines of animals that are the themes in the series with an emphasized silhouette of a giant panda, designed specifically to house this coin. The coin with a multi-coloured, natural image of a panda made to remind us about the fragility of nature and the greatest care that we should give to endangered animal species, will be a desirable item in any collection.
