Правительство Южной Георгии и Южных Сандвичевых островов в 2014 году выпустило две монеты одинакового дизайна «Очковая морская свинья».

Очковая морская свинья — это редко наблюдаемое в природе животное из семейства морских свиней. Этот вид легко отличить от других морских свиней по характерным тёмным кольцам вокруг глаз, по которым животному и дано его название. Вокруг этих тёмных колец, в свою очередь, расположены более светлые кольца.

Аверс монеты, отчеканенный на монетном дворе Великобритании Pobjoy Mint, представляет портерт королевы Елизаветы II работы Яна Бродли, окруженный надписью «SOUTH GEORGIA & SOUTH SANDWICH ISLANDS 2014».

Реверс несет изображение трех очковых морских свиней в толще воды. Внизу указан номинал «TWO POUNDS».

The Government of South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands have issued two new coins which feature one of the region’s more elusive sea mammals, that of the Spectacled porpoise. A rarely seen member of the porpoise family, they are believed to be found around the cool sub-Antarctic waters and have been seen off South Georgia in the Atlantic. It is therefore fitting that this amazing new coin is being issued on behalf of South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands.

The species is easily distinguished from other porpoises by a characteristic dark ring around the eyes which is commonly surrounded by a further light ring giving the indication of spectacles – hence, the animals’ very descriptive name.  The Spectacled Porpoise has distinctive black and white markings – black above and white underneath – with a white stripe on the upper surface of the tail.  They are fast, active swimmers and normally avoid boats, which is why so little is known about this particular species. The total population is also unknown and therefore they are listed as a Threatened Species.

The coin, struck by the Pobjoy Mint, UK, is issued in both sterling silver and cupro-nickel and share the same design. The reverse features a beautiful Spectacled Porpoise in the foreground with a mother and her calf in the background. The coin’s face value of “TWO POUNDS” is placed just under the primary design along the lower rim. The obverse of the coin features an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.

Each silver proof example is packaged in a custom presentation box with certificate of authenticity.

Королевский монетный двор Канады в июне 2014 года выпустил монету «70-летия D-Day», посвященную годовщине вторжения союзных войск в Нормандию.

Высадка в Нормандии (D-Day) — морская десантная операция, проведённая 6 июня 1944 года в Нормандии во время Второй мировой войны силами США, Великобритании, Канады и их союзников против Германии. Являлась первой частью стратегической операции «Оверлорд», предусматривавшей захват союзниками северо-западной Франции.

Обычно, аверс представляет портрет правящего монарха, но эта монета стала исключением. На ней изображен редкий портрет правящего монарха во время Второй мировой войны, короля Георга VI.

Реверс в уникальной перспективе, от первого лица, представляет одну из сцен событий, развивающихся 6 июня 1944. На переднем плане выгравированы высаживающиеся канадские солдаты в полном боевом снаряжении.

Монета 10 долларов из серебра 999-й пробы (proof), имеет вес 15,87 г, диаметр 34 мм. Тираж — 8000 шт.

In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of D-Day, this finely detailed coin offers a unique first-person perspective of the peril faced by Canadian soldiers during their landing at Juno Beach. The detailed design serves as a heartfelt tribute to the Canadian veterans of the Second World War, and their enduring legacy of service and sacrifice in Normandy and beyond.

This coin commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy – an important offensive that allowed Allied forces to establish a foothold in Western Europe and open up another battlefront, thus paving the way to Allied victory.

Typically the obverse of your coin features the reigning monarch, this coin features a rare effigy of the reigning monarch during the Second World War, King George VI.

June 6, 1944 – forever known as D-Day – new coin reverse transports you back in time with a unique first-person perspective that immerses you in the midst of the action. Canadian infantry soldiers are seen in full battle gear as they disembark from a Landing Craft Assault (LCA) vehicle and make their way to what’s become known as Juno Beach. In the foreground, one soldier looks on while another at left looks back at the viewer, who is about to follow the others into the low Atlantic tide. The precariously angled horizon in the background recreates the rough sea conditions, as the transport vehicle and its occupants are tossed about by tall waves just off the shores of Normandy.

Королевский монетный двор Канады в июне 2014 года выпустил новую монету «Толсторогий баран» популярной акции «$100 за $100».

Толсторог или толсторогий баран (лат. Ovis canadensis) — вид парнокопытных из рода баранов. Распространён в горах западной части Северной Америки от Канады до полуострова Калифорния.

В списке Международного союза охраны природы толсторог отнесён к категории видов, находящихся под наименьшей угрозой. В США, в местах, где толстороги имеют наибольшую численность, на них разрешена спортивная охота по лицензиям. В честь толсторогов (англ. Bighorn sheep) названы несколько топонимов в США, в частности округ в Монтане, округ в Вайоминге, река в Вайоминге и Монтане.

На аверсе отчеканен портрет королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II работы Сюзанны Блант (Susanna Blunt). Вокруг выгравированы надписи: «ELIZABETH II», «D • G • REGINA».

Реверс несет изображение двух дерущихся толсторогих баранов на фоне скал. В верхней части выгравирована надпись «CANADA 2014». Внизу указан номинал «100 DOLLARS». Слева обозначены инициалы дизайнера реверса «CD» (Claudio D’Angelo).

New from the Royal Canadian Mint is its 2014 $100 Bighorn Sheep Silver Coin, the latest release from the popular Wildlife in Motion series which features one ounce, 99.99% pure silver coins sold at their legal tender face values of $100.

These coins are viewed as a premium option to the Royal Canadian Mint’s $20 for $20 program which has proven extremely successful. This older program with much higher per-coin mintages has seen 13 coins issued to date, with all but the 2014-dated coins selling out. The most recent 2014 $20 Summertime silver coin launched in late May. The previous 2014 $20 Bobcat silver coin is at 91% sales and the first 2014 $20 Canadian Goose silver coin is at 99% of sales.

• 2014 $100 Grizzly silver coin, launching in September 2013
• 2014 $100 Bald Eagle silver coin, debuting in January 2014

Designed by Canadian artist Claudio D’Angelo, the $100 for $100 Bighorn Sheep Silver Coin has an action scene depicting two Bighorn Sheep as they are about to engage. The background offers a mountainous Canadian landscape. Inscriptions around the scene read: CANADA, 2014, 100 DOLLARS and the artist’s initials. This Royal Canadian Mint clip shows the coin as it rotates.

Obverses bear a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt and have inscriptions of ELIZABETH II and D G REGINA.

Банк России 30 июня 2014 года выпускает памятную серебряную монету номиналом 2 рубля «100-летие со дня рождения конструктора В.Н. Челомея» серии «Выдающиеся личности России».

Аверс несет рельефное изображение эмблемы Банка России — двуглавого орла с опущенными крыльями, под ним надпись полукругом «БАНК РОССИИ», а также по окружности имеются надписи, разделенные точками: номинал монеты «ДВА РУБЛЯ» и год чеканки «2014 г.», между ними проставлены обозначение металла по Периодической системе элементов Д.И. On June 30, 2014 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues a commemorative coin in denomination of 2 Roubles — «The 100th Anniversary of Constructor V.N. Chelomey’s Birth» of the series «Outstanding Personalities of Russia».

The obverse: a relief image of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a two-headed eagle with wings down, and a semicircular inscription under it «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), framed with a circle of beads. Inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin «ДВА РУБЛЯ» (TWO ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2014», between them there is an indication of the metal according to D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin bears a relief image of V.N. Chelomey against a background of the planet Earth, stars and an orbital station. There are inscriptions below — «В.Н. ЧЕЛОМЕЙ» (V.N. CHELOMEY) along the circumference and dates «1914», «1984» in two lines.

Монетный двор Австралия в июне 2014 года выпустил памятную монету 50 центов, посвященную 50-летию Институту исследований кореных народов Австралии и Острова Торрес (Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Studies, AIATSIS).

AIATSIS была создана в 1964 году. Изучая коренные народы Австралии уже в течении 50 лет, организация также постоянно финансирует различные программы для поддержания связей между коренными народами, их историей, и широким австралийским обществом.

Аверс традиционный: портрет королевы Елизаветы II работы Яна Бродли, окруженный надписями «ELIZABETH II», «AUSTRALIA 2014».

For 50 years, it has funded programs ensuring the enduring links between Indigenous peoples, their histories and broader Australian society. The 50c frosted uncirculated coin with colour printing Coin’s reverse features the AIATSIS logo, surrounded by traditional Indigenous art motifs.   

Each special collectors’ edition coin is struck by The Royal Australian Mint from 1/2 oz of CuNi in frosted uncirculated quality with colour digital printing. Each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2014 year-date on the obverse. No more than 30,000 of these special collectors’ coins will be released by the mint.
